1. Can you describe your role in the SDSS collaboration and what you enjoy most about it?

I work with SPIDERS, both in providing a catalog with information from SDSS and eROSITA for both collaborations and in studying the optical spectra of X-ray selected AGN. What I enjoy the most about SDSS collaboration is that I feel very welcome and included.

2. Can you tell us about your educational background and how you got interested in the field of astronomy/astrophysics?

I did my studies in Brazil, where I come from, and now I am in Germany doing my PhD. I was always very interested by the Universe and especially by telescopes and what we can actually detect from the heavens.

3. What projects are you currently working on and what are you most excited about?

I am working on the automation of the spectral fits of X-ray selected AGN and looking forward to have some reliable measurements so we can study a bit more of AGN demographics and correlations between the optical and the X-ray emission.

4. Can you describe how you balance work and personal life, and what advice would you give to someone just starting in the field?

I try to work on a 10h-18h basis and not to work on weekends, so I can be productive when I work and also not be thinking about work when I should be relaxing. Some advice I would give is to never forget that enjoying life should be the most important thing for us to focus on.

5. Can you share with us a unique hobby or interest that you have outside of work?

I adore dancing! By myself in my flat or at a party with friends, it is something necessary for my overall health.
